Arri Master Prime T1.3 PL with incredible close focus capability are best described as perfect. Seriously these lenses are so good at everything that they are actually faultless. They are colour matched with the Arri Ultra Primes and the Arri Alura zooms. They are big and heavy though but it is a small price to pay. The only reason to use other lenses (apart from budget) is if you actually want a distinctive look from you lens. Perhaps you want a vintage look to create a softer image or you love lens flares then take a look at the gorgeous Zeiss Super Speeds or the Canon K35 primes.

Canon K35’s Set of 5 fast primes are seriously popular and very cool. They are used for films, commercial and music videos and for any project where a vintage super fast lens is required. They give a softer look than modern lenses with amazing bokeh and flattering skin tones.
The wonderful Cooke S4i T2 prime lens set of 5, PL mount are famous for the unique 'Cooke look' that directors and DOPs love. The Zeiss Super Speed PL Lens set are the most popular of all the vintage prime sets. They are seriously fast at T1.3 for incredible low light performance but are also light and compact. They are also very sharp above T2.8 but below that they give a soft look that Directors love.
