SmallHD Cine7 Monitor

Compared with cheaper 7″ monitors, the Cine 7 offers much more useful tools for actually judging and controlling an image on set. SmallHD’s Page Builder interface allows monitoring tools such as focus peaking, false colour, waveform, vectorscope, zebras and exposure tools to be configured exactly how you want them. This makes it far more useful to a cinematographer or focus puller than a basic monitor that simply displays the camera feed.

The size and sharpness is particularly useful for crucial focusing. A 7″ screen gives considerably more room to judge fine detail than the smaller 5″ monitors commonly used on cameras, while still being compact enough to mount on a camera rig, even if you are handheld. With focus peaking and image magnification available, the Cine 7 makes it much easier to judge critical focus, particularly when working with high-resolution cinema cameras and fast lenses.

The Cine 7 can be used across a wide range of professional camera systems and is equally at home on cameras such as the ARRI Alexa, Sony FX6, FX9, Canon C300 and RED Komodo. It’s also a practical choice for productions where the monitor needs to move between different camera setups rather than being permanently dedicated to one system.
