How to Hire
Welcome to Media Dog Hire. This is a bit of important information that you may find useful when you hire cameras or equipment from us.
Booking a Drama, Commercial and Broadcast Equipment Hire
All our prices are excluding VAT, delivery and collection. For longer term, volume or regular hire deals please contact us for a very competitive quote.

Equipment Collection and Return
Equipment can be collected after 2pm on the date of collection and returned by 11am on the date of return. It may be possible to arrange other times, but this is strictly by prior arrangement.
The last date in the hire period on the paperwork is the day the equipment must be returned. If you require a different date you must arrange an extension.
Our official opening hours are…
Birmingham 9:00am – 5:30pm
Manchester 9:00am – 5:30pm
Glasgow 8:30 – 5:30pm
We appreciate that your hours may be more varied, so collections and returns at alternative hours can be arranged.
Delivery and Collection
You must arrange deliveries and collections in advance and this should ideally be done at the time of booking.
Collection equipment must be de-rigged and ready for us to collect as your return date is often the collection date for our next customer.
We can supply technicians to rig the equipment and get it working for you and we’ll even operate it for you if you want so please ask for a quote.
You are responsible for insuring the equipment you hire from us against loss or accidental damage whilst it is in your possession. This is from the moment it leaves our premises to when it is returned.
If you need to arrange temporary insurance cover, there are short-term cover options out there such as www.performance-insurance.tv.
Media Dog Hire will be glad to provide you with the total replacement value of your ordered kit and any other information required for insurance purposes. We are not allowed to sell insurance, this is something you must organise yourself, and it is your responsibility to make sure you are legitimately covered.
With all our cameras we supply media cards but please talk to us about how much media you need when booking.
The prices on our website are for guide purposes only and we can often do you a better deal, but on the odd occasion we do not have the item you require in stock in order to get it in for you we may have to charge a little bit more.
You must return cables neatly coiled as you received them (not using sellotape, masking tape or parcel tape) – in the same style as you received them.
If you’re not sure how a piece of equipment works – then please ask, we’d rather that you are able to use it on your hire. It’s easy to show you when you collect rather than over the ‘phone.
All of our equipment is maintained, checked and prepared by well trained professionals, but we know things break down. Please call us during your hire if you have any issues – we want your shoot to work so that you’ll come back again, you can call us at any time.
Radio mics are not supplied with new AA batteries unless requested. As a rule of thumb each radio microphone will use one set of batteries every 2-4 hours use.
